F.I.T Social Meets are proving great fun for all involved.

 

Often the social meets involve F.I.T'ers coming together and meeting at a central location such as a shopping Centre or a nearby Harvester for food and drinks but most of all for the great company and understanding of each other's illnesses and limitations due to illness. Despite everyone attending having one form of illness or another, it is rarely illness that is talked about and F.I.T'ers have found that at the meets, it's been helpful to talk about every day things, coping strategies and hobbies & interests - mostly positive conversation! Still, talking about illness is always welcome, and such discussions are helpful to have.

 

We currently only have social meets in Surrey, UK but this is soon going to change as we are in the process of arranging social meets in each county of the UK, Scotland and Wales.

 

In Surrey, we've had social meets at Savil Gardens, Costa Coffee shops, Harvesters and garden centres!

The social meets are always free to attend. You are, however, expected to pay for yourself for any activity that costs money and for any food or drink you purchase for yourself, although we always try to consider costs and understand that often those with chronic illnesses rely on benefits as income.
