New Venue for groups in Surrey

Okay... so this is cool. F.I.T will now be running two support groups a month in Surrey. One of these groups will be at St Peters Hospital in Cherstey in the evening, and the other will be at Tesco Extra in Ashford Middlesex in the day time. This gives those day birds and night owls an equal opportunity to attend a support group in Surrey.
Karina Scott, a lady working at Tesco, has been ever so helpful in making it possible for us to hold a group at the Ashford Middlesex store and has even offered to design a poster to advertise the group in store! So, thank you Karina! And heres to many more groups a-coming :)

Halloween Quiz Night coming up!

On October 30th we are all set to get quizzy with our Halloween Quiz Night with a Twist at St. Peters Hospital in Chertsey, Surrey. We are expecting a lovely lot of people to come along and ask our Memory Guru questions... Our MG will have memorised the answers to over 1,000 questions but will she remember the answer to the question you're asking her on the night? ***DRUM ROLL*** you'll have to be there to find out. Join us for fun, food and a great raffle... FREE entry and all ages welcome. Doors open at 7.30pm at the Chertsey House at St.Peters!
Our Founder on Radio Woking talking about chronic illnesses

On Sunday 26th July F.I.T's founder was interviewed on Radio Woking about Facing Illness Together and chronic illnessess. When talking about the show, our founder said, "I hoped to act as an advoacte for all those facing a chronic illness and to cover some important topics that are known to be affecting everyone suffering. 1st Support Group - A Great Evening all round...

Wow, what a fantastic support group for our first one! A lovely evening with approximately twelve of us in total inlcuding two guest speakers - Adam & Sharon. We had a wonderful array of refreshments as well as some of our Etsy shop goods available to buy, and a raffle with prizes including a notebook, beauty bits and bobs and a blood pressure monitor! The atmosphere was friendly and warm and everyone was made to feel welcome. We offered each other support and everyone was very open and honest.
Support Groups - Finally arranged!

... and it gives us great pleasure to announce that the 1st Support Group date, time and venue has been set and support groups will run every fourth Thursday evening of the month thereafter. They will be held at the New Haw Community Centre in New Haw, Surrey and is a lovely peaceful venue, with a garden and is fully disabled friendly :) It will be fantastic to see lots of you there as these groups are a key part of what we as a community offer to support anyone aged 18 or over with a chronic physical and/or mental illness.
Social Meet Success!

Wow, success! F.I.T's first ever social meet today went really well and was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for everyone who attended. Amongst us, we made some important decisions regarding the upcoming support groups starting in July - such as how they will be run, and what F.I.T'ers would like to see and hear in the groups! There were 7 of us at the meet today; some of us munched on some food available in the food court where we met, and we all enjoyed meeting each other and sharing experiences. Overall - a social meet success, and there are more to come!
